FOE

Have a listen to a beautiful voice from Britain. So thankful that I stumbled upon FOE today, even though she only has a couple of songs out thus far. Her quintessential track is below. The original is jazzy, echoe-y, sultry. The remix sounds like it came straight from the soundtrack of Top Gun. Love 'em both but I am a sucker for remixes. This one takes my breath away...

Tamaryn

Music for people watching. Music for a nice, smooth road trip. Music that gets even better when you're a lil tipsy. Plant these 2 happy tracks from Tamaryn's debut album into your world ASAP. Boy does it feel good to support local music from my home-city of SF!

H Fredriksson.

Swedish designer Helena Fredriksson is brilliant. Based out of Brooklyn, (I swear, another coincidence. I don't just love things from Brooklyn) her aesthetic is modern, artistic, and juxtaposed by loose yet structured pieces. Her clothes are timeless. She seems to be strategic with her use of color, which is refreshingly minimal. I am a fan.

Crystal Castles ft. Robert Smith (!!!)

I'll never forget: Crystal Castles going bat shit on stage @ Mezzanine SF circa 2007. I think they opened for the Presets (not too shabby). Let's just say I was speechless and it took me a minute to switch gears and get excited for the Aussie dudes.

And now...a sweet (big) collab with Robert Smith of none other than the Cure. Now crack open a Coors Light and get off the couch. This song is RAD.

Keep Shelly in Athens

Starts out as a sweet lil bedroom tune. At around the 2:44 mark, you'll want to party in your sleep. Trust me, it is worth the wait! And yes, this duo is from Greece.

Twin Shadow // Hooray for Earth

Twin Shadow's debut album, 'Forget' is getting some impressive reviews. Surprise, surprise...more new music straight out of Brooklyn that is killing it. His lyrics are truly memorable. And it is only the beginning. "I Can't Wait" has been catching my ear this week and I added a remix that is bringing me to a sweet lil place that I REALLY like.

White Sea // M83

M83 fans! Morgan Kibby (the only lady member of the 4-man French group) is officially rolling solo as White Sea. She has big shoes to fill but I'm super intrigued by what she's produced so far. Here's my favorite song off her sweet lil EP and a nostalgic old M83 tune. Reminisce........

White Sea - Cannibal Love

The Hundred in the Hands

I have been a massive supporter of this boy-girl duo from NY ever since my wifey from down under pointed me in the right direction. A few ridiculously amazing tracks off their debut album will forever remind me of Summer 2010: cruising around in the mini and pulling ANDP's (all nighter dance-parties) that cripple your legs for days. The problem with being obsessed with certain songs for months is that you risk neglecting the rest of the album...This song entered my world last week and gave me a whole new appreciation for one of the most obnoxious birds on the planet.

EABURNS // creative exploration

Discovered some new talent for the jewelry industry today at Broadway Market! I was instantly smitten with her "slimming" designs of long chains accompanied by faceted trianglular pendants (or daggers? arrowheads?). All different sizes and textures -- leather, velvet, metallic, printed cotton and much more. The perfect sophisticated piece to layer or wear alone and proud. I could not leave with just one...so I bought three. Thank you Lizzie. We will meet again soon.

*She's also a WICKED artist. Pictured above...

BISTROTHEQUE

The tastiest (& loneliest) eggs benedict ever. Art on a plate.

Added brunch bonus -- The pianist, Xavior, was sporting pink hair, a pink sweater and a pink music book. He also played us some Lady Gaga.

Brooklyn's finest!

I cannot STOP playing this song by EUC (Electric Umbilical Cord). Dark yet Dancey, it is right up my alley. 'Monsters that move in the shadows,' Corey Crawford & Wes Thatcher are two of my sweetest lil man's best homies from NY. They just released their first 7-track EP, titled "The Prey," and literally every song is epic. Pass this gem around town ladies & gentlemen!

The Brightest side of Black

I would wash my face with greasy McDonald's wrappers in order to have a shopping spree at Acne. Had the pleasure of stopping into the brand new store on Dover St. (Mayfair) today. 4 floors high, and full of mouth-watering style. They really make you hike up to the top floor for the best part: shoes & accessories. I would stomp all over town in these skyscraping wedges. Obsessed.

KATE!!!

Took a sweet lil trip to Topshop earlier this week...come to find out that Ms. Kate Moss would be debuting her final mainline collection in the UK on Oxford St. that very night, complete with a guest appearance. To describe the scene as mayhem would be an understatement. I waited in a queue 1000+ people long, but yours truly was approximately #200. I even got a free Kate poster which I gave as a housewarming present later that evening. The collection was true Kate: boho chic, lots of fringe, fur, embroidery, maxi silhouettes. Western girl at heart, I love my fringe...left with this bad boy, happy as can be!

Adventures in Wonderland

Been from SF --> London 2x in the past 5 weeks. This song has been a frequent track during those delightful 10+ hour flights. Puts me to sleep as I dream of my travels ahead. zzzzzzz........
